Both the Federal and Cal EITC have similar eligibility rules. Claim your cash!

Basic EITC Eligbility Guidelines

Federal Earned Income Tax Credit: This credit is considered the nation's largest anti-poverty program! The EITC is worth up to $7,830.

The Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) helps low- to moderate-income workers and families get a tax break. If you qualify, you can use the credit to reduce the taxes you owe – and maybe increase your refund.

The California Earned Income Tax Credit (CalEITC) supports low-income, working Californians. You may be eligible for up to $3,529 cash back or a reduction of the tax you owe.

  • The amount of your credit may change if you have children or dependents, are disabled, or meet other criteria.

Claiming the Federal EITC helps individuals meet basic needs, increase economic stability, and reduce financial stress!

In Los Angeles, 1 in 5 individuals who are eligible for the EITC do not file a tax return. This results in $579 million going unclaimed each year!

The only way to get the EITC is to FILE YOUR TAXES!
